Social work at ADS
The Social Workers employed at ADS are all integrated into multi-disciplinary teams consisting of professionals from a variety of backgrounds including RMN’s, RGN’s, Psychologists, Counsellors, Psychiatrists who come together regularly to review service users care in a holistic, person centred and strengths based way. The core practice skills, values and theoretical knowledge of Social Workers are key to this approach.
The organisation has a defined career pathway for social workers supporting them pre-qualification through training on placement or via sponsoring staff through the Apprentice Social Worker route, and post-qualification by offering a high quality Assessed and Supported first year in Employment (ASYE), followed by the opportunity to become a Practice Educator. Thereafter the Social Work workforce are supported in their Continued Professional Development (CPD) through an embedded appraisal and supervision structure, opportunity for promotion to higher grades as Social Workers, accredited training through ADS and our NHS partners, access to seminars, conferences and workshops via our membership of the Humber Social Work Teaching Partnership, and a variety of opportunities to work with Universities on admissions panels, academic delivery and assessment boards.
